I’m not really sure where I should begin here. I guess we should go way back the beginning, last Wednesday. I’m in the office sitting at my desk eating lunch and making my daily rounds through facebook, flickr and twitter. I take a look at my twitter favorites page. These tweets range from the the funny to the mundane to the completely absurd but they all have one thing in common. They amuse me. I thought it was a shame that people were out there living life and not even knowing what they are missing out on. Then it hit me! It is my duty to spread the joy through cross stitch.
I finished my first one on Saturday morning. I was excited to share it but hesitated posting it right away. Weekends on the internet are pretty dead. I thought, especially with the holiday, that too many people might miss it. My excitement dismissed those silly thoughts. I posted a photo and went on about my Saturday morning business. When I returned to the computer I couldn’t believe the attention it had gotten. Little did I know that was just the beginning.
Let’s see… I was the subject of another stitchgasm on mrxstitch.com. I made it onto Craft! I was approached by Julie Jackson who, by the way, is the reason I’ve done any cross stitching after the age of 14. (I should also be writing back to her… if only etsy wasn’t down for maintenance.) Not to mention links started turning up all over tumblr.
Less than 24 hours later, nearly 500 views, 23 comments, and 21 favorites… to say I’m a little overwhelmed would be an understatement.

I was thinking about content for future tweets and I figured you should get some of the classics.
So see if you can find one from @StephenFry when he got stuck in the lift.
And also there’s a site called TweetingTooHard (or something) where people can vote on the most self-absorbed tweeters. There’s bound to be some quality content in there.
Keep rocking it!
Do you take requests for people to have you cross stitch a specific Tweet?
yes I will be taking requests… hopefully by the end of the week I’ll have a page set up specifically for these requests and suggestions.
how cute is this. nice idea thats for sure. I reckon they would look great as little badges
With today’s focus on social media I think this is a very apt project! Great tweet, I am sure @michaelianblack is pleased he has been immortalized in cross stitch!
Squee! Amazing. I don’t suppose you’d be interested in sharing patterns/suggestions...I have a few Texts from Last Night that I would love to xstitch. In any event, they look amazing!

Congratulations! That’s so awesome!!!
